Now really, I wouldn’t know, but I’m pretty sure I’d love my Mulberry Alexa bag in the exact same way Bianca Stratford loved her Prada backpack.
The British accessories company has produced a mens inspired briefcase with a softer feel for feminine appeal. Plus, you wouldn’t know it from the picture above but it comes in three sizes and fun colors.

I spent all of my free time yesterday listening to Joanna Newsom’s new album “Have One On Me” and it’s a masterpiece. She’s singing with her real voice and it’s brilliant. The songs are journeys and the lyrics are heartbreaking.
“I saw light and I called it mine. I saw it drawn so sweet and fine and I had begun to fill in the lines right down to what we’d name her. Our nature does not change by will in the Winter and the ruined mill the creek is lying flat and still, it is water though it’s frozen.”

And now the concealer that I’ve been loving for the past year or so has officially sold out. As barely anyone knows Prescriptives is pretty much done. The line is off the counters and it looks like they’re just going until they’ve cleared the shelves.
So ladies (and skin perfecting boys) any recommendations of where to turn for my dark circle erasing needs? And you can keep in mind that I’m pale. Pale like a ghost.

Skybox: Light
Skybox has finally settled in Chicago and solidified their line up. And simply put, Chicago is lucky to host their whimsical, cheeky, piano-driven pop.
For instance, this song “Light” sounds a little like a nursery rhyme with lyrics written by a stalker. It’s goooood stuff. Listen, listen.
If you live in the central or East parts of the country you’ll be able to see Skybox as they make their way down to SXSW in March. We on the West will be waiting…
“You’re a light. You’re a light when the world is so dark it can shine. You’re my air. You’re my air when I sleep and you breathe just for me. We can grow really tall and reach in to the sky, in to space. We can swim. We can swim to the edge of the earth and into the moon. And you fill the world with music and you sing your song to the sky and you turn the dark in to light. You are colors. You are colors all over the world in the air. You’re a piece. You’re a piece of my heart and you fit so perfect. You’re a light. You’re a light when the world is so dark you can shine. You’re my air. You’re my air when I sleep and you breathe just for me. And you fill the world with music and you sing your song to the sky and you turn the dark in to light.”

I’m a little behind on this. Well, one week to be exact. Last Sunday night, me and my love ended our Valentine’s Day date at the Doug Fir Lounge. Joe Pug, from Chicago Illinois, opened the show and was the perfect way to start the evening. When Justin Townes Earle took the stage the room was nearly filled. He was joined by a fiddler & bassist. The ensemble was perfect and Justin’s stories were better than ever. And seriously, I don’t know where he found that bassist but he should never let her go.

For this weekend’s adventure, four of us and the puppy friend piled into my car and drove west. First stop, the Tilamook Cheese Factory. One word, delicious. Next stop, Oceanside, Oregon, where there was no shortage of One-Eyed-Willy jokes.
I usually love to visit the ocean in February because of the cool brisk wind, salty air and nearly empty beaches. Today was different though. It was warm and well attended, but lovely just the same.

Happy sand-puppy.

At first Marina Lambrini Diamandis of Marina & The Diamonds fame just seems to be the next in a long line of british pop darlings. But, if you listen, you’ll quickly realize her latest release “The Family Jewels” is one of the most entertaining albums of the year.
