The morning was a flurry of slack jawed discussion about John McCain’s choice for vice president. Just the other night I half joked that he’d have to choose a young politician from a minority group. He did just that. He selected 44 year old, first term Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin.
I haven’t mentioned it here [...]

I just finished up the last of the birthday shenanigans this morning that department of licensing. Turning twenty six was better than turning twenty five, probably because it’s not a number that is divisible by five. Simple but true.
I won’t go on about what I got from who or how many folks [...]
I’m looking around for a new guitar. An interesting idea in today’s economy, maybe. After going to two different branches of the same corporate rock tree I’m further behind and more confused than ever before. I really like the way that this one sounded but I was disappointed to hear that it [...]

It’s an amazing Wednesday when you get a fabulous early birthday surprise & find out someone you miss dearly is coming home (even if it’s only for one day).

A beautiful, hand made disc arrived today from an old acquaintance [...]
Me: Are there many assholes?
Nate: There are assholes here… more than Seattle… less than San Francisco.
I’m not sure I’m ready to sign up for Portland just yet.

Pondering Brian Greene’s theories regarding cosmology on the way to work has left me a little preoccupied today. You can listen to them here.
Yesterday I observed a family with three small children who appeared to be bilingual, in control and teaching their young son practice reading using a rather dour newspaper article. It [...]
I spent most of today driving to Port Orchard, playing music & eating a burrito (it is worth mentioning, it was a unique and terrific burrito). I constantly go back and forth between whether I prefer live music or making recordings. I often wonder if it’s better to put your best foot forward [...]
I’m increasingly excited about seeing Madeline Adams next week at the Vera Project. Madeline is from Athens, GA and she’s teamed up with northwest artists Mt. Eerie, Your Heart Breaks & Karl Blau for a summer skip around Washington and Oregon.
Madeline Adam’s music was brought to my attention when a review of Madeline’s live [...]
