Wintersleep

I just discovered a song by the Canadian band Wintersleep that is my new favorite song. Please check them out and befriend them on myspace. They don’t have this song up on their page but they do have the song “Weighty Ghost” up which is almost as good. Because of the cost of touring they [...]

Richmond, VA

I’ve been home for two days now and I’ve finally built up the energy to blog about the last exciting day of my trip. All three of us ladies made our way up to Richmond Virginia to return my littlest sister to her home. It’s crazy to think that Jocey has her own place in [...]

Wilmington & Carolina Beach, NC

Yesterday was long with lots of driving in my rented Mercury Milan so I’ll make this pretty short and sweet with photos and captions…
On the way to Carolina Beach we found this:

So we had to take a picture.
After finding a parking spot at McDonald’s we went and bought ice cream cones to avoid getting towed. [...]

Chapel Hill, NC

Today I got a phone call very early in the morning from the rental car place saying that the Avis location at the airport took all of their cars on Wednesday night and they would not be returned to them until noon today. That’s not great news when your reservation is at nine am. So [...]

D*R*I

For the past 15 minutes I’ve been listening to music by D*R*I who’s new album Smoke Rings is out now on itunes. Anyways, it’s Adrianne Verhoeven from the Anniversary, Art In Manila and Fourth Of July. I especially like the tracks called “Don’t Wait” and “You Know I Tried”. This project has got beats and [...]

I had a baked potato (again).

Shopping for the components of our Thanksgiving dinner at Walmart (the other grocery store is called FOOD LION and Leslie says it’s lame) was not today’s highlight. However, seeing downtown Fayetteville and enjoying a nice meal definitely was. See below for photos and brief captions.
This is in the center of town:

One of the quaint little [...]

Air travel always feels like cheating.

When ever I take an airplane across the country, when I get to my destination I always feel like I haven’t worked hard enough to be there.
All of the food I ate yesterday came from a wrapper. Not to under estimate airplane snack-packs though. It was terrific.

After landing, Leslie and I settled on eating at [...]

“Nice bean sandwiches”

Happening #1:
Last night I went to the Rock and had, like, four drinks. After the second vodka tonic I got a little opinionated and after the third, I had to pee. While in the restroom I encountered one of my very least favorite things for the sixth or seventh time. It’s this thing where three [...]

Gas prices, live music.

After a quick run though all of the websites of all of the venues in Seattle and Tacoma that put on good, decent, or great shows I’ve confirmed my theory. My theory is really more like a question, hope or wish. Please dearest powerful beings or Jesus or what-have-you… will you please lower the cost [...]

After recovery comes hope.

After yesterday’s full day of recovery from way too much wine I actually got a ton accomplished today. The party was great.
I feel great. I’m ready to take it on, all of it.
I wish you weren’t a liar.
